在2019苏州国际设计周上，《城市中国》杂志受邀参展，展览主题为“超·中国——河道轨道映射的中国加速与压缩镜像”。以交通基础设施的加速为主要线索，以京沪高铁与京杭大运河的沿线城市化地区为对象，展现中国城市化的加速进程下，在慢与快、老与新、扩张与压缩的社会转型之中，人与空间、时间、基础设施的复杂关系。以这些内容为制作素材，展览现场悬挂了四幅长画轴，作为“超·中国”展厅内参观的主动线。
In Suzhou Design Week 2019, the Urban China magazine was invited to curate the exhibition Hyper-China: China’s Acceleration and Compression Reflected by Rivers and Rails. Centring on the acceleration of transport infrastructure, the exhibition uses the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail as two comparative case studies to explore the complex relationship between people, space, time, and infrastructure under the accelerating process of urbanisation. In the social transformation from the old to the new, from slow to fast, from expansion to compression, the issues of social acceleration and space-time compression are revealed, and the problems of China’s modernization are discussed. The exhibition was presented in the form of four delicately drawn horizontal scroll paintings.
四幅长画轴，在形式上模拟了中国古代传统写意山水画的横铺方式，是对大运河深远历史性的一种表达。在内容上，则发挥了城市中国研究中心擅长的图解分析方法，是对当今中国京沪高铁沿线城市发展现状的具体分析。
In the form of modern Chinese landscape paintings mounted on horizontal scrolls, the exhibited work represented the profound history of the Grand Canal. The paintings are a graphical analysis of the development conditions of multiple cities along the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail, sketched out in the diagrammatic method developed by the Urban China Research Center.
形式上的复古、写意，与内容上的客观写实、数据理性，形成显著对比。
An interesting dialogue was formed between the impressionist (‘Xieyi’ Chinese painting) representation and the rational, analytical content.
主画轴之外，辅以纪录片、历史报道拼图、河流长度对比图、LED报站模拟装置、巨型墙面slogan、杂志装置等展品，构成完整的观展体验。
In addition to the four painting scrolls, a documentary video, an old newspaper collage, a diagram of historical changes in the river’s length, an LED sign box for train station, a giant slogan painted on the wall, and a magazine installation all constitute the exhibition, providing a multisensory, immersive experience.
